Destiny Farmstay, located 25 kms from Ooty, is a place that offers a farmstay experience amidst a beautiful valley setting.
Destiny Farmstay is in Avalanche, a destination that is less explored for the beauty it offers. We can label Avalanche as an underrated destination.
First things first.
Minty Alert Do NOT reach Destiny Farmstay using Google Maps. We tried using it and we went on loop. We wasted about 20 minutes driving in wrong direction.
The farmstay is located in a remote place, hence there are too many turns and narrow roads to reach the destination. Best way to reach Destiny is to just follow this detailed route map. It is recommended that you call Destiny every 15 minutes (once you start from Ooty) to ensure you are on right direction.
The periodical call to Destiny is also to ensure that they arrange a pickup vehicle at the parking lot. All vehicles have to be parked in a dedicated parking area, from here everyone will be taken in an altered tempo traveller with custom seats. Fun begins here.
The tempo traveller ride will be bumpy because there are no roads. People travelling with kids have to be careful to hold them tight from not falling down.
A team would be waiting at the reception to welcome guests with a drink.
There are totally 35 rooms in Destiny spread across five room types – Standard Rooms, Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Luxury Rooms and Honeymoon Suite.
Below photo has the first three room types.
All rooms offer good view, only the room dimensions and facilities inside the room vary by room type.
Below pictures are from the Luxury room area. Luxury rooms have a dedicated large balcony – stunning view can be experienced from here. It is recommended to just sit in one of these iron chairs at night and enjoy the heavenly environment around.

Due to the farmstay’s remote location, one will only hear nature’s sound throughout the stay.
The farmstay, staying true to its name, has many farm animals like a stable full of horses, cows, rabbits, geese, sheep and others.
One can visit all these animals and also feed them after informing the incharge.
When it comes to activities, Destiny has enough in store to engage for two days. List of activities include rappelling, valley crossing, fishing, plenty of outdoor games, golf putting, hiking, camping, monkey crawling, glass painting, horse riding among others.
“The Fight Room” – indoor games room.

Destiny is a heaven for photographers. There are many “poster card” type viewpoints available in Destiny, our favourite was below photo. This is the place where campfire would be set. Live grill food and drinks are served in this open area.

Minty Tip If you want to take some great photos of yours that suit the farm oriented environment, request for the cowboy cap and farm related items in the reception. We got two large cowboy caps.
It is recommended that one visit the lake in Destiny. Though it involves bit of a walk, it is totally worth it for its mint condition. Noticing a human around this lake is a rare occurrence.
The food quality in the restaurant is good. We were surprised to get top quality food in such a remote location. Especially, their Chocolate Gateau was lip smacking. We ordered it thrice back to back to back.
All vegetable, fruits, herbs and spices used to prepare all food items were grown in house. One can visit them too (if you are lucky, they might allow you to pick some vegetables).
In below photo, the entire area to the right side of the stairs is where all vegetables/fruits are grown.
With this garden and farm animals, Destiny Farmstay is pretty much a self-sufficient place.
The natural (mini) pond offers a perfect setting for fishing.
Because of Destiny’s dense greenery, valley view, mountain view, pristine lake, natural pond with fish, and other features, the place will be booked well in advance. Especially on weekends, getting a room will be difficult. Best is to book two weeks in advance.
We recommend to stay in Destiny at least for two days to fully enjoy the experience the environment offers.
