When you are in Bangalore and you have little more than half a day to spend, you must experience Nandi Hills.
Nandi Hills, located about 60 kms from Bangalore, offers a great view of Chickballapur. The place can be reached comfortably with Google Maps.
Though Nandi Hills is known for it’s viewpoint now, the place has deep history attached to it. One can visit the place where Tipu Sultan held his prisoners, Tipu’s summer bungalow and more. There are about five reasons behind the name itself – “Nandi Hills”.
The entire Nandi Hills has changed drastically in the last 10 years. In 2010, the Hills attracted less people, but now it is difficult to just get a car parking during peak time.
When we visited Nandi Hills in 2010, there were about 10 cars parked. In 2017, when we visited, we noticed about 500+ cars and it took us 10 minutes to find a car parking. The place has started to increasingly lean towards tourists.
Minty Tip To get the best experience of Nandi Hills, be there in the hills by 5.30 am to 6 am. Chances are high to see fog covered mountain ranges, some stunning photographs could be taken during this time.
Below are some photos taken during our trip.
