Every city has got a list of less-known-but-good places. There are plenty of such places in Chennai. One of them is a place called “ECR Dhaba” in Chennai.
We’ve been travelling on the ECR road for at least 10 years, but we’ve never been to this place thinking that its yet another restaurant.
Recently, we stopped at ECR Dhaba for a drink, and explored what’s inside this place.
Below photo is the signboard of ECR Dhaba – while travelling from Chennai to Pondicherry, this place comes at the left hand side.
Restaurant is just a small part of the place.
There are rabbits! There are plenty of them!
There is a kids play area too – but it looked like it wasn’t being regularly maintained. Be careful when you are using it.
There are cats too, all of them kept inside a closed enclosure.
ECR Dhaba also has Emus. Currently, there are three Emus. We were told that there were at least 10 Emus earlier.
Below picture has two Emus – they are perfectly camouflaged.
There is a separate party-hall-sized enclosure for pigeons. There are more than 200 of them inside this.
Pigeons ahoy!
Entry to all above places is FREE.
